At the "Szalajka fish pond" stop of the forest railways, there stands a monument-like building which is usually mentioned as the "Király" house or the "Mine courtship'' house. The ground floor of this two-storey manor house was built at the beginning of the nineteenth century\ and this was the headquarters of the mining authorities, the so-called, mine-courtship, which inspected the quality of the metal. Lajos Koncz, innkeeper, in Szarvaskő, Bélapátfalva and the Maria, found the places of occurrence mine in the Horotna valley in 1801 and 1802. The authorities also kept the work of the Keglevich counts' foundries under control. In the time of marquis Alfonz Károly Pallavicini this building was the office and official quarters of the forest factor Lajos Kiraly, who became the Commissioner of Woods and Forest. He lived here from 1921-1946, that is why it is often called "Király" house. The top floor of the building was built in the middle of the last century. Nowadays two exhibitions are set in this house, the Matra and Western Bükk Forestry and Wood-works' trade collection and the Forestry Museum of Szilvásvárad. The building was under renovation between 1980 and 1984 and after collecting the material of the exhibition and setting them up the formal opening was in 1985 on the occasion of the National Society of Forestry's congress in Eger. The public can visit the museum from the June of 1986 and 25-35 thousand visitors arrive every year. |

A régebben "Király-ház" vagy "Bányagrófság" -ként emlegetett műemlék jellegű épület az erdei vasút Halastavak megállójánál található. Az épület helyreállítása 1980-84 között
történt, 1986-tól pedig múzeumként működik. Itt kapott helyet a Szilvásváradi Erdészeti Múzeum, amely egyrészt a még fellelhető, erdészettel kapcsolatos régi eszközöket, írott és tárgyi emlékeket gyűjti össze és teszi közkinccsé, másrészt, a kiállítás anyagának ágazatonkénti csoportosítása révén,
bemutatja a látogatóknak az erdészet sokrétű tevékenységét.
